Dave Belote is a Senior Vice President at Cassidy & Associates, helping clients successfully navigate issues at the nexus of renewable energy and national defense. Dave has served as Vice President for Federal Business at Apex Clean Energy and earlier was the first Executive Director of the Department of Defense Siting Clearinghouse at the Pentagon, a “one-stop shop” for industry to work with federal, state, and local government agencies to ensure that utility-scale renewable energy and transmission projects are compatible with military operations and installations. He’s a retired Air Force colonel and F-16 pilot who served as commander of Nellis Air Force Base; a director of Environmental Entrepreneurs’ mid-Atlantic chapter; and a member of Operation Free, advocating clean energy for a secure America. He earned White House recognition in 2013 as a Champion of Change: Veterans Advancing Clean Energy and Climate Security, and is also a five-time Jeopardy! champion.
