Ian brings over a decade of expertise in workforce and community development, project management, stakeholder engagement, and partnership creation to his role. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering economic growth, building resilient communities, and advancing sustainable industries.
As Principal at Karp Strategies, Ian focuses on innovative community economic development strategies, stakeholder engagement campaigns, and workforce development program and partnership creation. Notably, he leads key initiatives related to offshore wind workforce partnerships that bridge the gap between jobseekers and careers in the industry including the development of the NYSERDA Offshore Wind Career Pathways Website and CUNY’s Bridges to Offshore Wind Program.
Before joining Karp Strategies, Ian served as Assistant Vice President of Workforce Development Partnerships at the NYC Economic Development Corporation and was the founding Business Development Director for the NYC Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities’ flagship employment program NYC:ATWORK. In addition to his work at Karp Strategies he also serves as an adjunct instructor for employment planning and policy at Hunter College’s Master of Urban Planning Program.
