Alisha Harrington is Deputy Director at Browning the Green Space (BGS) and leads the BGS workforce development initiatives to support the “creating jobs'' part of the BGS mission. She focuses her work on partnership and program development in order to help create pathways to employment in the clean energy sector as well as programs to help break down barriers to that employment including financial, network and diversity, equity and inclusion barriers throughout the sector as a whole. Alisha spearheads the BGS offshore wind equity work “Prospects” in partnership with Xodus Group focusing on outreach and education to high school and community college students and the X-Academy pilot which is a 2 year professional training program for graduates of 2 and 4 year higher education programs. Additionally Alisha also provides legal support for BGS including governance and contracts.
Prior to joining BGS, Alisha was Co-Director of Impact Hub Boston, a collaborative community for impact entrepreneurs, nonprofits and solo practitioners using business and entrepreneurship as a vehicle for social change. Alisha spent her early career working as an Assistant Public Defender for the Defender’s Association of Philadelphia which solidified her commitment to work on racial, social and economic justice issues. Alisha holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
